Understanding Metastatic Breast Cancer and the Gitty Foundation MBCR

Breast cancer is a complex disease that affects millions of people around the world. While much progress has been made in recent years to improve screening, diagnosis, and treatment for breast cancer, there is still much work to be done. In particular, metastatic breast cancer remains a major challenge for patients and researchers alike.

Metastatic breast cancer is a type of breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body, such as the bones, liver, or lungs. It is also known as stage IV breast cancer, and it is the most advanced stage of the disease. Metastatic breast cancer can be treated, but it cannot be cured. Patients with metastatic breast cancer require ongoing treatment and care to manage their symptoms and prolong their survival.

The Gitty Foundation for Metastatic Breast Cancer Research is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is dedicated to supporting research into metastatic breast cancer. Founded by Gitty Leiner, who was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in 2018, the foundation is committed to improving the lives of patients with this devastating disease.

Gitty's personal journey is a testament to the strength and resilience of those who are living with metastatic breast cancer. When Gitty was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer at age 47, as a single mother to a beautiful 4 year old daughter, she knew she had to do everything in her power to live and fight each day to the fullest. Despite the lifelong treatment ahead, Gitty remained determined to find a cure for this disease.

Gitty founded the Gitty Foundation to support research into metastatic breast cancer, with the hope of finding new treatments and improving outcomes for patients. Her mission is to educate, mobilize, and inform as many women as possible about the importance of early screening and the need to fund new technologies to rid the world of metastatic breast cancer once and for all.

The Gitty Foundation is dedicated to funding research that will lead to better understanding of metastatic breast cancer and improved treatments. The foundation also provides support to patients and their families, helping to connect them with resources and information that can make their journey a little bit easier.

We believe that by working together, we can make a real difference in the fight against this disease.
