Dr. Quincey LaPlant, MD, PhD is an Assistant Attending Radiation Oncologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and a physician-scientist in the Heller Lab, where his research focuses on developing more precise and less toxic therapies for breast cancer. His work centers on novel nanoparticle-based therapeutics designed to better target estrogen receptor–driven cancers, including metastatic and treatment-resistant breast cancer.

His current work centers on the development of nanoparticle-based estrogen receptor degraders (“NERDS”), a novel therapeutic platform designed to selectively target estrogen receptor–driven breast cancers while reducing systemic toxicity. This work combines nanotechnology, tumor biology, and radiation oncology with the goal of improving cancer control while minimizing side effects and preserving quality of life for patients.

Dr. LaPlant’s clinical practice focuses on breast cancer radiation therapy, where he is committed to advancing more precise, personalized, and biologically informed cancer care.
